Description:
For too long, large segments of spiritual leadership have existed without clear systems of accountability. But integrity cannot thrive without shared standards that define ethical and responsible behavior. Accountability means being answerable to those agreements: to truth, to community, and to the impact of our actions.
This webinar with guest speaker Julie Nelson, invites you into an honest, perhaps uncomfortable, but necessary dialogue about the next stage of spiritual evolution: collective accountability. How do we create cultures where spiritual authority is balanced by transparency? Where those in positions of power can, by being held accountable for their mistakes, enhance their own process of spiritual maturation? What is the student's role in sustaining ethical relationships?
This webinar may challenge your assumptions about leadership and responsibility. We invite you to join us in exploring how accountability can become a sacred practice and the foundation for trust, justice, and genuine spiritual integrity.

Speaker Bio:
Julie Nelson (a.k.a. Seido Sensei) is a Zen teacher in the Soto tradition. She is the author of Practicing Safe Zen: Navigating the Pitfalls on the Road to Liberation (Monkfish, 2025) as well as works in Tricycle magazine and on her blog. Her spiritual home is the Greater Boston Zen Community, a group that experienced three waves of teacher abuses of power. She is deeply saddened when people, either in addition to or instead of realizing benefits from their work with a spiritual teacher, suffer great harm.
Whether you are a seasoned spiritual leader, a newcomer to the field, or someone interested in spiritual leadership, integrity and ethics, these meetings invite you to contribute your thoughts and experiences. Join us to connect, learn, and collaborate!
