Organization Membership
Join a growing movement of spiritual communities, organizations, and retreat venues that are committed to building cultures of integrity from the inside out.

Why Join the ASI?
ASI is a peer-led community of spiritual leaders and organizations working together toward something genuinely new: a culture of spiritual leadership that supports the humanity of those who lead and protects the wellbeing of those they serve.
As a member organization, you will:
-
Access a growing library of resources to support your organization's ethical development and leadership culture.
-
Be part of a community that understands the real challenges of building integrity within a spiritual organization.
-
Share a visible commitment to ethical leadership with nearly a thousand member teachers and organizations worldwide.
When your organization joins the ASI, you commit to:
-
Integrating the ASI Honor Code of Ethics and Good Practice into your guidance policies for staff and volunteers, adapting it as needed to fit your organization's specific context. Any adaptations should complement rather than contradict the existing code.
-
Making integrity a living value within your organization, one that shapes your culture, your internal relationships, and the way you engage with those you serve.
-
Developing internal procedures that allow you to respond honestly and responsibly when your ethical commitments are not upheld.
-
Creating a genuine feedback process so that those you serve have a meaningful way to share their experience with you.
Two spiritual organizations that put their own policies in place prior to the birth of the ASI are Spirit Rock and East Bay Meditation Center. If you would like to reference their procedures as an examples, you can click this article to read an overview of Spirit Rock’s “Ethics and Reconciliation Council” or East Bay Meditation Center’s “Ethics, Restoration, and Resolution" (ER&R) process.
We know that it takes time and resources to develop and/or revise policies and practices within organizations. The ASI is a member-led organization seeking to help both ourselves and other leaders in this regard. Our community of members share a commitment to integrity. You are invited to join us.
If you would like your organization to join the Association for Spiritual Integrity, please review the membership benefits & requirements below and then complete the electronic application form.

ASI membership is a voluntary commitment, held in good faith. We trust our member organizations to bring their values into their work. We are not a monitoring body, and we do not police conduct. When concerns are raised, we have a confidential process that invites honest reflection, dialogue, and where possible, repair. Revoking membership is a last resort, used only in cases of serious and unresolved violation of our shared values. Our aim is always to act with fairness, care, and integrity.
The ASI reserves the right to refuse membership. Each application form is read carefully, and all details submitted are checked for authenticity. If an applicant is not who they claim to be their membership application will be denied. Please make sure that we are able to reach you at the contact information you provide in the application.
Venues
Venues carry a particular responsibility. When you invite guest teachers and facilitators onto your premises, you are implicitly vouching for them to your community. The integrity of your space depends not only on your own organizational culture but on the standards you hold those you platform to as well.
ASI has developed an integrity clause template that member venues can include in contracts with guest teachers and facilitators. It is a practical, straightforward tool for ensuring that everyone who teaches on your premises shares your commitment to ethical leadership.

Employing this clause will help your organization to:
-
Create a clear, shared ethical framework between your organization and the teachers and facilitators you invite in.
-
Signal to your community that everyone who teaches on your premises has committed to the same standards of integrity you uphold.
-
Have a practical foundation in place should ethical concerns arise, supporting fair and transparent resolution.
-
Contribute to a broader culture of accountability in spiritual leadership, beyond your own walls.
Integrity Clause Template
for Venues
Once your membership is approved, you may copy and paste the integrity clause below into your contractual documents or tailor the clause to fit within your current contracts in a way that makes sense to you:

For Platforms, Podcasts, and Media Hosts
If you host interviews, feature guest speakers, or curate content from spiritual teachers and leaders, you carry a particular kind of influence. The people in your community trust not just the content you share but your discernment in choosing who to platform. ASI offers a simple integrity clause that media hosts and platform owners can include in their agreements with guest speakers and contributors. It is a small, practical step toward ensuring that everyone who appears on your platform shares your commitment to ethical, conscious leadership.
We would like you to include this clause in your agreements with guest speakers, teachers, and contributors, you are welcome to copy and adapt it to fit your platform:
[Platform Name] is a member of the Association for Spiritual Integrity (ASI) and is committed to featuring voices that reflect our values of ethical, conscious leadership. We ask that all guest speakers, teachers, facilitators, and authors who appear on our platform share that commitment. By agreeing to appear, you are agreeing to abide by the ASI Honor Code of Ethics and Good Practice (or another robust ethical code that you share with me).
