What ASI Membership Means
What Does the ASI Badge Signify?
The ASI badge that brought you to this page tells you that the spiritual organization, leader, teacher, or coach has volunteered to abide by a code of ethics and is committed to upholding high ethical standards in their service offerings.
What Membership in ASI Means
When a spiritual leader or organization joins ASI, they make several important commitments that reflect their genuine desire to provide their service with integrity and accountability. They have agreed to:
-
Abide by the Honor Code of Ethics for Spiritual Leaders or the Honor Code of Ethics for Organizations.
-
Implement a formal feedback process and encourage, accept, and thoughtfully respond to feedback.
-
Commit to ongoing self-inquiry into their unseen patterns and habits, and agree to seek professional support when needed.
-
Engage in ASI’s Evaluation and Restoration process if a student or client submits a formal ethics concern.
In these and other ways, ASI raises self-awareness and offers a model of transparency, accountability, and integrity in spiritual leadership. Our initiatives encourage ASI members to be honest, respectful, and professional in their role as leaders.
Why This Matters to You
Spiritual leaders or organizations (communities) often occupy positions of significant influence in a student's or client's life. The leader-constituent (teacher-student) relationship involves trust and vulnerability. By choosing an ASI member, you're selecting someone who has voluntarily agreed to behave in accord with high ethical standards and to be accountable for doing so.
Please also see our Ethical Guidelines for Students.
Disclaimer: The ASI membership badge does not imply ASI’s endorsement of any member's business or services. ASI is not a regulatory body. Membership is voluntary, with members agreeing to follow the Honor Code of Ethics.
